Live music photography is hard. For me, it took a lot of trial and error to get ANY good images. But now that I’ve done some learning, I love it!
My passion for this comes from being a musician myself. Spending hours listening to the radio as a child translated to frequent concert going as an adult. I even dabbled a little bit in the band life for about 9 years before I realized it didn’t fit my lifestyle.
Fortunately, I found a boyfriend who started a band with his college buddies, Catfish Murphy, and its still successful today! They are the perfect subject for me to practice on.
Shameless plug: Catfish Murphy is bringing the best of Outlaw Country, Southern Rock, Americana, and Texas/Oklahoma Red Dirt to Eastern Iowa. (Literally copied this from their website.) If you’re into artists like Bob Seger, Jason Isbell, Chris Stapleton, and Turnpike Troubadours then you’ll love them.
I hope you enjoy taking a look at these images from Catfish Murphy’s show at US Cellular Center in Cedar Rapids!
