Don’t get me wrong. I LOVE being an equestrian photographer. However, because I now do this full-time, I sometimes run into a little thing called burnout during my busier seasons, where I stress out over the loads of editing and other business things that I forget why I do this in the first place. So to prevent this, I am now scheduling shoots throughout the year for myself. Not of myself, but ideas that pop up in my head that I search for a model for to help bring it to life.

I met Karley last summer when she hired me to photograph her and her sister with their horses, actually one of my first equine sessions! When she responded, I was SO excited because I knew she’d be perfect for this.

She met me at the Hotel Millwright in the Merino Loft, in Amana, IA. We had such a fun time taking these images. She went along with ALLLL my crazy ideas!
